Bring something flowy, preferably a light color, maybe some period outfits (like from the olden days), or wear a spooky mask and get into the images! Feel free to dress the part.

As it says in the flyer, we’ll be doing long exposure photography to blur people “on purpose” to make them look ghostly or supernatural. Or, if you’d rather, just wander around and photograph the beautiful grounds.

Although we’re not there to photograph the sunset, the sun will set just before 7pm, so I’d like us all to be out of there by 7pm. Inside, the place is heavily canopied, so you can easily get long exposures even during the daylight hours. That being said, bring a tripod as you’ll need it for long exposures.

Because this is a real life cemetery, I’m asking that everyone be on their best behavior as we don’t want to upset the neighbors, city officials, or be disrespectful to anyone that might be there, living or dead. If you know what I’m saying… 🦇

We’ll meet at 5pm, wander around, photograph the beautiful foliage, maybe some birds, some ancient gravestones. Then we’ll find a nice dark spot to practice our long exposures.

Bring your camera, lens (wide to medium length-don’t think a long lens is necessary, maybe a macro if you’re into that) a sturdy tripod, ND filters if you have them (they’re like sunglasses for your lens). I’d recommend getting at least one if you don’t have any already. They’re very useful in many situations. But don’t go spending tons of money, it’s not necessary. Perhaps a wired or remote shutter release. A portable and very lightweight stool might be helpful for those who don’t want to stand for so long.
