Our Meetings
South Florida National Parks Camera Club Meeting Information
Our meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month and are open to the public. They are “hybrid” meetings, meaning we meet in person, but we also broadcast via Zoom. Meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and conclude no later than 7:45 p.m. The meetings are held at the Pinecrest Branch Library, 5835 SW 111th St, Pinecrest, FL. Emails with links to join via Zoom go out the morning of the meeting. If attending in person, you are invited to arrive early to socialize before the meeting begins.
Inclement Weather Policy
While we try to hold all meetings as scheduled, the safety and well-being of our members and guests is most important. Our policy is that rain or shine our meetings will proceed as scheduled unless there is an extreme weather threat. If there is a tropical storm watch or warning, the meeting will be postponed or cancelled outright. Notifications will go out to alert members.

Visitor Policy
To encourage prospective new members, we invite visitors to attend one of our field trips as a guest in order to get to know the club and our members and to see if what we offer is a good fit. After attending, visitors should have a feel for the club, and we ask that you please join in order to continue participating in meetings and activities. Our club relies on members' dues to pay for our club expenses.
CANCELLATIONS - Inclement Weather Policy
As with the meetings, the safety and well-being of our members and guests is most important. We are at the mercy of weather when we’re out photographing in the field. If weather is not a factor, our field trips will proceed as scheduled, unless there is no participation (no RSVPs), which is very rare. If there is the threat of tropical activity or severe weather, we will make decisions prior to the event and will be posted on our website. When there is an active tropical watch or warning, all events during the watch or warning will be cancelled.
SPECIAL ONLINE PRESENTATION MEETINGS
We also have special presentation meetings for members only, such as PhotoFinish and FrameIt!’s, which are held via Zoom. Links to those meetings are sent to all members via email a day or two beforehand.
PHOTO FINISH
On the 1st Wednesday of each month (with exceptions) we host an online post processing session where we discuss various topics within the Adobe image processing suite, such as Lightroom, Photoshop, and at times we discuss other features such as plug-in’s and other software that is within our wheelhouse.
FRAME IT!
On the 3rd Wednesday of each month (with exceptions) we host an online photo image review we like to call “FrameIt!”. Prior to each FrameIt, we ask members to submit images to adhere to a pre-selected theme. We then display each photo and discuss it with the members in a ‘meeting’ style on Zoom. It is a very casual way to view images and learn what works, how to improve if you so desire, and a fun time with fellow members.
