Do you ever ask yourself those difficult questions? Do you question whether your work can be categorized as “fine art” or just another “snapshot”? I’ll admit, I never knew there was a difference until I started watching the pros and their YouTubes, reading their articles in photo magazines, and listening to them in various conferences and workshops.
According to the “pros” there is a difference. To some there’s a big difference, and to some others, that difference is razon thin. According to me, I’m in that “razon thin” category. Its a fine line between snapshot and fine art. And I can’t tell you where that line is, only you can make that distinction for yourself (or ask a pro to critique your work). But what I can do is offer descriptions of compositional elements with examples that can maybe bump that razor thin line towards fine art. Hope you can join me!
This IS a hybrid meeting, meaning we’ll be meeting in person as well as doing a live broadcast via Zoom (which will also be recorded). After the meeting, the recording will be uploaded to our website. Link to the library’s registration page is below.
Due to some technical issues, the library is now hosting our Zoom broadcasts. To watch via Zoom, you just click the button “Library Registration Link” below, which takes you to their website, then click the button to “register to attend online”, give your name and info and they’ll send you the Zoom link (no library card or pin required).
