SFNPCC Dec. Meeting - Photographing Holiday Lights

For tonight’s meeting, I’ll start by giving a quick how-to-photograph holiday lights, and then we’re in for a special treat, we’ll be watching a video of some fantastic photographers discuss different types of winter photography.

How to Photograph Holiday Lights

The video is Out of Focus Photography Show. The video will feature 3 fantastic photographers.
Kurt Budliger – A Guide to Exposure;
Brenda Petrella – Photographing the Aurora Borealis; and
Joe Rossbach – Winter Woodlands & Desert Landscapes.

Link to the YouTube video is here. Below are time-stamps in case you’d like to fast-forward through any of it to get to a portion you want to see.

0:00 - 6:26 Intro
6:27 - 19:08 Random discussion and live chat (previously recorded - we skipped through this but feel free to listen!)
19:09-33:15 Kurt Budliger - A Guide to Exposure
33:16-38:35 Kurt's Q&A
38:35-49:00 Cold Weather Gear Recommendations & Hiking Tips
49:04-1:16:30 Brenda Petrella - Photographing the Aurora Borealis
1:17:30-1:47:20 Joseph Rossbach - Winter Woodlands & Desert Landscapes

Along with those folks they’ll discuss cold weather gear & hiking tips, so this should be a great intro into winter photography. You may be wondering why we in Florida need to learn about winter photography. Well, in case anyone is planning a trip to the colder climates this winter, you may want to learn a few of these tips. Or, maybe some of you are intrigued by winter landscapes and this might be some incentive to plan a winter trip for yourself next year!

We will NOT be broadcasting this meeting via Zoom. Delfin, our audio-visual pro, will be taking the night off, so it’s up to the rest of us to pick up the slack. Hopefully we can deliver a great program for you. I’ll do my best to record the meeting and then upload it to Facebook to watch later.

And hey! I found a form feature here on Squarespace! Let’s see if this is an easy way to RSVP. Please fill out the form below to let me know you’re coming!

Thanks everyone!
