This month we have the pleasure of having special guest speaker, nature and travel writer AND photographer, Kirsten Hines. Kirsten is based right here in Miami but is a world traveler. Below is an excerpt from her website.
"Focused on conservation and nature travel, I am a writer, photographer, and environmental educator with an M.Sc. in biology. Raised in the Philippines but based in Miami since 1998, I have been stashed under thorny bushes by Maasai in Kenya, had my lunch stolen by monkeys in the forests of Borneo, battled crocodiles in Australia, faced down a bowl of boiled frogs in China, and checked off my last continent with penguins in the Antarctic."
Kirsten recently launched a new book (she has several) about Biscayne National Park, on the 50th Anniversary of the park, and showcases the parks history from pre-Columbian time to the present day. So I encourage you all to check out her website and see all of her accomplishments and take a look at her photographs. I'm really looking forward to her presentation and I know you'll really enjoy it.
Hope to see you all here!
