  • Ernest Coe Visitor Center 40001 State Road 9336 Homestead, FL 33034 (map)

This even has SOLD OUT.

Beth Ruggiero-York is providing a discounted workshop for the SFNPCC.  On April 11th we will be meeting at the Everglades Association Conference room starting at 5pm.

Class Description

This will be a 5-hour class on photographing the landscape with starry skies in the background. There will be a 1 hour of classroom time followed by a short break for participants to assemble their gear before heading to the site where we will be shooting.  The field portion of the workshop will start at approximately 7pm with sunset being at approximately 7:43pm.

During the classroom time, participants will be given instruction on:

  • Differences between night and day photography;
  • The night sky – moon phases;
  • Equipment needed;
  • Camera settings;
  • Taking test shots;
  • Focusing at night;
  • Noise management.

Individual instruction and guidance will be provided in the field. Each participant will be sent a copy of her e-book, Fun in the Dark: Photographing Night Skies, prior to the workshop.

Member Price: $79.00 per person (non members pay $99.00 per person).  This is a highly discounted price from what Beth normally charges for the same workshop she teaches for Arizona Highways Photo Workshops.  It is typically priced at $165 and is a great benefit for our members.

RSVP as soon as possible so that we can get Beth an idea of how many plan to attend.  Please keep in mind that the entrance to the Everglades National Park is $10, which is not included as part of this workshop. Also, you can purchase an annual pass to the Everglades for $25.
