On Thursday, October 23rd the SFNPCC will be having our first field trip to the Everglades. This trip will focus on night sky photography. On that particular night we will have a new moon that sets at 6:48pm. That means it will be extremely dark after the sun goes down. We will have a good opportunity to capture the Milk Way. The location for the night shoot will be Mahogany Hammock, which has some nice views facing south.
The plan will be to meet at the Everglades Visitors center at 6:00pm. The sun sets at 6:45pm so we will be stopping off at Pineglades Lake on the way to Mahogany Hammock. The lake faces west giving us a good view of the sunset and hopefully calm water.
From Pineglades lake we will head south deeper into the Everglades to arrive at Mahogany Hammock where we hope to capture the Milky Way.
