Join us for a chance at a beautiful sunrise at Long Pine Key, or as we refer to it as LPK. Sunrise is at approx. 7:30am. We'll meet at 6:30 at LPK. If you're unsure of where it is, just say so in your RSVP e-mail and one of us can arrange a meet up with you.
(If you click on the provided map [left] it will lead you to a trail much further south than where we are meeting. Zoom in and look at the road where it meets the Long Pine Key lake, the loop, that is where we will park, meet, and take photos.)
Plan accordingly for the bugs! Its not summer so there won't be as many as summer time, but that doesn't mean there will be none. This is the Everglades. Keep watch here on the website for more info or if anything changes.
Here are some suggestions for items to bring:
- Water
- Snacks
- Bug Spray
- Sunscreen
- Hat
- Tripod
- Remote Shutter Release
- Wide Angle Lens (as wide and fast as you've got)
- Lawn chair for comfort
We'll be pretty close to our vehicles here so you can bring as much as you might need and leave in your car. Bring whatever you need to feel safe and comfortable.

There is $10 fee for non-members to attend SFNPCC field trips. Bring a friend! Let them see how much fun we have taking photos!
The Everglades National Park fees are $25 per car. That $25 is good for 7 full days. If you're like the rest of us SFNPCC members who visit the Everglades on a regular basis, the park offers a year pass for $40. Those can be purchased in person at any of the Everglades visitor centers, or online here at this website: http://www.smartdestinations.com/pass.ep?filters=_d_Evr_Prod_Go&template=nps .
