Hello Spring and Hello April!I have to admit, the months of March and April are my favorite time here in Florida. The days are getting longer but its not yet so brutally hot and buggy. I am relishing it! So, what happened in March? Our PhotoFinish had to be postponed because my computer died, or so I thought. All is well again and we’re on track for April. Don’t forget, PhotoFinish is now at 7:30p to give me time to get home after work. Darned traffic! Our first “4 for 4” meeting showcasing our winter challenge went great! I started with some examples of what I was looking for during our challenges and then went into everyone’s images. There were a lot of great examples, and I think we all walked away with a new appreciation of checking out all the angles before walking away from a subject or scene. I hope we’ll get even more folks to participate in the Spring Challenge, Same Scene, 4 Different Focal Lengths! (To refresh your memory, here’s the link to the original announcement.) Big thanks to Delfin (Ren Fest) and Jason (Wako) for leading our two field trips in March. From the photos I saw, looks like everyone had a great time! And don’t forget, for those who attended, I’d love to get a handful of images from your time at either of them. Our FrameIt! for bold and colorful images was great! Lot of fun seeing everyone’s interpretation on the theme. Next theme is “WET”. You interpret it any way you see fit. There’re no wrong answers here. Have fun! So if you missed anything, be sure to watch the replay! 😁 ———————————————————————SPRING 4 FOR 4 PHOTO CHALLENGE!The SPRING 4 for 4 challenge has begun! Have you started yet? The challenge for spring is to pick a subject or scene and photograph it with 4 considerably different focal lengths (by considerable, I mean more than 20mm difference). The images aren’t due until June, so go out and have fun! My suggestion, whenever you go out to photograph the things that you love, take a few extra minutes and try the challenge on whatever it is you’re photographing. Shouldn’t take more than a couple minutes to change your focal length and collect a few more images. 😉 I encourage you to send in multiple collections if you have them. Here’s the link to upload your images or you can always email them to info@sfnpcc.org. Again, the memo for the challenge went out in mid-December (here’s a link if you missed it). This second quarterly “spring” challenge started on March 1st and ends June 6th. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s images!
