HAPPY NOVEMBER Y’ALL!

Hope everyone had a great October! I can’t attest to any of our October activities as I was on vacation for all of them, but I heard great things about the folks at AVC and their wonderful hospitality. For those who attended the meeting and studio “field trip”, hope you learned a lot and enjoyed your time.

Sorry I had to cancel the PhotoFinish, because like clockwork, 3 days after I returned from my trip, I got the pesky airplane flu. lol (I ordered masks so I’m covered for my next trip 😂.) The October PhotoFinish will be moved to November. 

Since the Oct. meeting was not recorded, and PhotoFinish was cancelled, the only recording we should have is from our FrameIt (still waiting on confirmation of that). If we do have a recording, the replay should be uploaded to the website soon. 

SPECIAL EVENT!

This month we have another goodie for you! Our first event is our field trip to Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park (and the reason our newsletter is early, to remind y’all!). We’re meeting for sunrise, a rare treat for Bill Baggs as this park doesn’t open until 8am. The club secured permits and paid for early entry, so it’ll just be our group until the park opens. Because we paid for access, we’re limiting this event to members only. However, if you have any photography friends that want to participate, they can do so for a $20 fee (unless they'd like to join the club  instead 😁). Please be sure to RSVP as this event is limited to 20 people. I sure hope you all can join us!

Then its back to a semi-normal routine. PhotoFinish on Nov. 5th will be what I missed last month, our meeting will be back at the Pinecrest Library on the 12th, all about composition, and the FrameIt! on the 19th will have a Thanksgiving theme. Should be an excellent month. Hope to see you at our upcoming events!

The 3rd Tri-Annual digital competition is underway. Deadline is Nov. 19th if you’re interested. See below for the details. 

Membership in SFNPCC automatically gets you membership in the FCCC. All you need to do is register HERE - and be sure to choose the South Florida National Park Camera Club from their drop-down menu for free membership. There are many opportunities to be had by registering, including:

• Three Digital and three Print competitions per year, up to four images per competition

• Images/prints winning ribbons in the tri-annual competitions are automatically included in a year end competitions

• Free personal Competition Gallery showing all entered images

• Free web link to their personal non-commercial website on our “Members Website” page

• Members receive reduced registration fees and other benefits at our conventions

• Access to our Discussion Forums

Come join us for a morning sunrise shoot at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park on Key Biscayne. SFNPCC has secured permits and paid to get early entry to the park (which normally opens at 8am). Participants are limited to 20 so be sure to RSVP to let me know you’ll be attending.

Tonight, I’ll be demonstrating a new plugin I recently purchased for Lightroom. If you ever wonder what tools to use, or are constantly trying one thing but never seems to work, or maybe you just want to streamline your workflow, this might be helpful.

WED. NOVEMBER 12TH - MEETING

We’re back at the Pinecrest Library for tonight’s meeting on Composition. 

Join us in person or via Zoom. Meeting begins at 6pm, and finishes around 7:30. Afterward we can meet outside in the patio where we can enjoy one another’s company.  

This IS a hybrid meeting, meaning we’ll be meeting in person as well as doing a live broadcast via Zoom. Zoom will also be recorded and uploaded to our website.

November’s theme is “Thanksgiving”, following suit with celebrating the season. 

Remember, you don’t need to submit images to attend the FrameIt! Nor is it mandatory to attend if you have submitted images. These Zoom’s will be recorded and uploaded to our website shortly after.

Email us your images by clicking the yellow button below. Be sure to resize them upon export to 2500 pixels on the long edge, so we can see them on the screen.
