HAPPY OCTOBER!Hope everyone had a great September! We started with our PhotoFinish where I hit the highlights of the other Lightroom features than what weβre used to. Mainly the Map, Book, Slideshow & Print modules. Admittedly, I donβt use these a whole lot, but there are many ways to learn from the pros (links to a few are on the websiteβs EVENT page. If you missed it, or want to watch the replay, click HERE or HERE. Then we had our meeting, βFine Art Architectural Photographyβ, where Hugh talked about how to take and process stunning architectural photos. Very interesting! If you missed it, you can watch a replay HERE or HERE. Next we had our downtown Miami city walk field trip, and oh my! We had so much fun! I was worried about the logistics, but it worked out awesome. So much so weβll most likely do another city walk this winter! And lastly, we had our popular FrameIt! where we looked at, what else, architecture! And if you missed that, you can watch the replay HERE or HERE. Boy, do we have a treat for you all this month! Instead of our regular meeting at the Pinecrest Library, we will be meeting at the AVC Photo & Video Store in Miami (just west of the airport on the Palmetto) where one of their pro staffers will give us a talk on flash photography! Then for our field trip, weβll be back at AVC Photo & Video where weβll have 4 hours in a professional photography studio where we can photograph portraits, products, anything really that works in a studio with artificial lights. For our FrameIt! weβll embrace the upcoming holiday and showcase βcemeteriesβ. That will be a fun time! Then instead of the first Wednesday of the month, weβll have our PhotoFinish on the 4th Wednesday of the month, where weβll go over a new preset plug-in from pro photographer and post processing guru David Kingham, called Rethink Landscape. Tonight weβre meeting at a whole other place - The AVC Photo & Video Store! Join us in person ONLY (this will not be recorded or via Zoom). Be there by 6:15pm as the meeting begins at 6:30. Should be finished by 8:30. (This is a special one time thing, weβll be back at the Pinecrest Library in November.) Since we couldnβt get the store to come to us, weβre going to the store. Octoberβs theme is βcemeteriesβ. With it being the spooky season, we thought this would be an interesting theme. Remember, you donβt need to submit images to attend the FrameIt! Nor is it mandatory to attend if you have submitted images. These Zoomβs will be recorded and uploaded to our website shortly after. Email us your images by clicking the yellow button below. Be sure to resize them upon export to 2500 pixels on the long edge, so we can see them on the screen. Click the red button for the Zoom link. Hope to see you all there!
